Stories make us who we are.

In a world where we are constantly divided, stories bring us together. No matter how personal our individual experiences may be, stories help us connect with each other.

It is our aspiration that with Asaii clothing, we are able to inspire the people around us to share their own life anecdotes with the community.

Custom story for Karan sethi

The best gift is what has a little bit of everything. Karan wanted to gift his mother something that she could cherish. He wanted to thank her for passing on her love for nature not only to him but also his daughters. Karan had the photo of her balcony at home which is also her favourite part of the house. Another photo of his daughters, one on his shoulders and one safely around his arm as the three generations stood in the same spot.

Custom story for Nisha Santhalia

We painted a memory for Nisha Santhalia from her childhood. Often, we don’t have photographs of everyday things that have shaped our childhood. Nisha, in the loving memory of her father, wanted to capture her everyday scooter ride with her father which is her fondest memory of him. The breeze caressing her face as she stood there safely tucked between her dad’s arms riding to school in her pigtails.

Story of Audience of Mountains

Audience of Mountains

- By Khayati Suri

The mountains have a way of changing us. Khayati Suri's time in the mountaintop village was transformative in every sense of the word. In just one week, she went from being a stranger to a cherished member of the community. As she played volleyball with the boys on their makeshift court, she felt a sense of connection that went beyond words. Those games, those moments of connection, became etched in her memory, and as she looks back on them now, she knows that they changed her. They helped her come closer to herself, to the person she wanted to be. The mountains watched over them, standing tall and majestic as if they, too, were witnessing her journey to a new self. And now, as she goes about her day-to-day life, she carries that journey within her. There's a connection to those mountains, to the people she met there, and to the person she became. The metamorphosis is ongoing, never truly complete, but always present, always pushing her forward to new heights.

Story of Friends in Mustang

Friends in Mustang

- By khayati Suri

Sometimes it's the uncharted territories that hold the key to our rejuvenation. As she stood at the border of Nepal and Tibet, Khyati Suri felt a sense of peace wash over her. She traveled to Kathmandu on a whim, seeking solace and purpose after a back injury. Little did she know, her journey would lead her to Mustang, a place that always called out to her. In the vast and empty valley, Khyati found herself healing from within. The new friends she made along the way filled her life with radiant warmth and unbridled joy, and the energy she had lost somewhere slowly returned to her. Looking at the seemingly boundless valley, she knew this moment was just for her. And with this realization came a newfound strength and resilience, cultivating a profound belief that her indomitable spirit was more than capable of conquering any obstacle that lay ahead.

It’s a place that has always called me, and my trip there brought me purpose, love, happiness, the same energy that I had lost along the way somewhere.

Here we are, with the valley vast and empty just for us.

Story of Sakya

Sakya

- By Khayati Suri

With a sense of serenity and a heart open to new experiences, Khayati Suri embarked on a Buddhist retreat at the Sakya Center. For weeks, she delved into the study of ancient texts surrounded by Tibetan monks, standing out as the only girl and non-Tibetan present. Despite the differences in background and culture, Khayati found a true sense of belonging and formed close bonds with her fellow retreat attendees, including the monks, who welcomed her with open arms. Amidst all the dissimilarities, Khayati felt an incredible sense of acceptance that transcended all barriers as she found a community that embraced and supported her journey toward personal growth. Looking back, she realized that some images can capture the essence of a journey - one that shows where she has been and who she aspires to become.

Udaipur Dive

- By Khayati Suri

Childhood is a time of endless possibilities, where the world is full of wonder. Khayati Suri couldn't help but reminisce about those carefree days as she passed by the lake near the palace in Udaipur. The sight of young boys diving into the water with opena arms filled her heart with a sense of longing for a time when her own life was filled with freedom and lightness.

As she savored the street food, memories of her childhood flooded her mind, and even though she wasn't physically in the water with them, just seeing these young boys dive was enough to transport her back to a time that felt so far away. Khayati longed for those days of endless possibilities, but even as she did, she felt grateful for the opportunity to relive those moments, if only for a brief time, through the eyes of these young boys.

Story of Free Bird

Free Bird

- By Khayati Suri

Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, it's the moments of deep emotional connection and meaning that truly make us feel alive. Khayati had come to visit her grandmother's ashram close to Yamuna Ghat, where the golden light of the afternoon illuminated the tranquil space. It was here, in this humble dwelling close to Yamuna Ghat, that her grandmother had built a life for herself, relying solely on her own strength and fortitude. When Khayati reminisced about their time spent at the ashram, her thoughts drifted to her favorite activity during her visits - carrying buckets of bananas for the monkeys.

As they walked behind the two priests, Khayati felt a sense of reverence and admiration for the woman beside her. Listening to her grandmother speak, she realized that she was finally old enough to truly understand the depth of her grandmother's experiences and the strength of her character. Together, they talked and laughed, sharing their thoughts on life's joys and struggles.

In that moment, she knew that her grandmother's spirit of independence and resilience was something to be cherished and emulated, and she vowed to carry that same within herself.

Story of Map of Manali

Map of Manali

- By Khayati Suri

The warmth of nostalgia and the joy of rekindling old friendships fill Khayati Suri's heart whenever she thinks of Manali. The memories of her guides-turned-friends, who showed her the hidden treasures of the land, still make her smile. The geography of this beautiful land was not just a map made of paper for her; instead, it was made of the three boys who lived in a village on a mountain. They showed her their secret spots and waterfalls and helped her forget her worries about finding her place. Khayati tutored them in turn, and they became her guides in this unfamiliar territory.
Years have passed, but the memories of those days are still vivid in her mind. Whenever she returns to Manali, the boys, now grown men, call her home for feasts. Though they are no longer her guides, they remain her maps to this land - the ones who showed her the wonders of this place and made her feel at home.

- By Khayati Suri

Friendship is a bond that transcends time and distance, often rooted in a silent care and understanding for one another. For Khayati and her friend, their connection had evolved into something much more than a romance, filled with poetry and comfort. Bikaner House had become their go-to spot for catching up over cold coffee and engaging in meaningful conversations. As they sat together during the blue hour, the sky painted in shades of purple and blue, they shared their deepest insecurities, knowing that they could trust each other with their innermost thoughts. Their bond had grown so strong that they were like family, and they cherished the moments they spent together, lost in each other's company.
